NYC Diaries - No.1 Traveller Lounge

After the initial excitement that your holiday countdown is finally over, a whiz around boots to buy the forgotten toothbrush/toothpaste/deodorant/all of the above, essential magazine stockup in WHSmiths and a mooch around mulberry, airports become extremely dull places.

Add in the standard 2-3 hours to kill, a couple of screaming children and serious lack of somewhere comfy to sit - (hard plastic chair anyone?) and some people might even consider them a nightmare.
It was with this in mind that as our eyes skimmed over the words 'ultimate
pre-flight experience' 'bistro menu' 'travel spa' and, most importantly,
'champagne' that the No.1 Traveller Lounge was booked without a second
thought.
With a bar serving up champagne & cocktails, along with complimentary bacon
rolls and eggs benedict, a travel spa providing an impressive selection of
treatments, a cinema, games room and a vast array of very appealing places
to sit (yay) in spacious, stylish surroundings, what better way to start
our trip to NYC?

Prosecco & Mash - The Georgian Restaurant

For mothers day we treated our lovely mum to a meal at Harrods 'Georgian Restaurant' - where formal dining meets buffet style in a luxurious setting.
With an eye-popping selection of mouth watering food, the most difficult decision of the day was definitely what we should try first..

We opted for the traditional roast for main - the mashed potato was creamy, buttery and fork-lickingly delicious!
Thanks to the clever advertising of the 'Harrods Canti Prosecco Bar' which has been plastered all over London's double-deckers - alongside our obsession for all things fizzy - we also decided to stop by and try out a glass - verdict: yum

We couldn't leave without a visit to the Harry Potter section to test out the broomsticks and Quidditch robes!

Fluffernutter Recipe

You will need:
30g butter
60g creamy peanut butter
130g granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
200g plain flour
1 & 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
80ml milk
Reese's peanut butter cups
Marshmallow Fluff
Nutella

Cream butter & peanut butter together in a bowl, add sugar and eggs & mix until fluffy, then add the vanilla extract. Combine the flour and baking powder in a bowl, add half to the mixture and stir until combined - add in the milk along with the remainder of the flour.

Crumble in the peanut butter cups (try hard to resist eating them!)

...along with a healthy dollop of Marshmallow Fluff

Pour into cupcake cases and bake for 20 minutes at 200℃. Leave to cool.

Fill an icing bag with Nutella and carefully squeeze into the centre of each fairy cake.

For the Marshmallow Fluff icing you will need:
200g icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
170g butter
the remainder of your Marshmallow Fluff

Cream the butter before adding in the icing sugar & vanilla extract

Fold in the Fluff

Mix together until you have a fluffy consistency

Pipe onto fairy cakes & decorate - we used patriotic Jazzies to compliment our theme
