If a place has the word 'diner' in it, chances are, we're already sold. In fact, one of our favourite restaurants in the world, Annette's Diner, located in another of our favourite places, Disneyland Paris, (duh!) just so happens to have the word 'diner' in it. Basically, mere mention of the D word and we're licking our lips in greedy (and quite possibly greasy) anticipation!
Electric Diner is located on Notting Hill's Portobello Road, right next door to one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK, Electric Cinema. This all-day, all-American joint, has managed to capture the classic dive bar buzz - whilst giving the interior a major upgrade. Don't fear, you'll still be able to enjoy a good ole' hot dog or burger from the comfort of a red leather booth, or from the bar where you can watch the chefs work their magic...
A glass of prosecco, because, well, strawberries need hydration too!
The menu branches away from traditional greasy diner fare, instead serving an eclectic mix of both French and American dishes. The English breakfast was superly dooperly delicious, with special mention going to the yummy mushroom and ultra juicy bacon! We also had the open-faced ham, cheese fondue and fried egg sandwich. Which wasn't actually, technically a sandwich... but was extremely tasty all the same!
We can't wait to go back to try out the Electric Donuts!
YUM!
