since beth and the bestie were already pottering about bankside
after noshing their way around Borough Market
the obvious choice for even more grub
was the newly opened Porky's BBQ.
they already have one branch in Camden
but this is their first adventure south of the river
now with a name like Porky's
we had some pretty high expectations -
especially in the pork department.
but we were most certainly
NOT dissapointed
so we did as the sign instructed.
because we like to follow the rules.
occasionally.
and there's a massive lit-up pig on the wall.
definitely our kinda place
the americana vibe is everywhere
with a cheeky Johnny Cash soundtrack
and you just know it's going to get messy
when they give you a big ole bunch of hand wipes
ORDERING TIME
(the second best time of the meal just behind eating time)
here are the sauces.
y'all will need them later.
'we're so fancyyyyyy' the drinks sang before we slurped them down.
milly opted for a jam julep - with strawberry jam and apple juice
whereas beth chose a pb&j manhattan
now what you've all been waiting for.
FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
to get the full porky's experience
we went for a porky's burger and hotdog
both classics.
but this time with bacon and pulled pork.
can we just say:
THEY WERE DAYM GOOD
it was all washed down with some hipster water
oh... yeah.. and some dessert.
it was a strawberry sundae.
because strawberry.
they have a pretty cool competition as well
let your creativity flow onto a pig and you could win some goodies
but don't try to steal our ideas.
we've copyrighted them.
so there.
