being strawberries, you would think we wouldn't enjoy autumn
well, you'd be wrong
strawbs only reach their true potential in the season of cosy jumpers, hot chocolate and falling leaves
these activities tend to reach their peak sometime between beth's bday and xmas
some people call this time of year halloween.
we're not those people
welcome to SPOOKBERRY 2015
we hope you're ready for some scary stuff...
LIKE THIS GIANT SPIDER!!!!!!!!!!!
and this incredibly frightening ghosty
ANNUAL BAKING TIME
keeping in with the tradition from last year we decided to go for cupcakes again
but cupcakes with a twist....
being the busy kittens that we are, we picked up a box of cupcake mix
and you know... did what it told us
having magic spoons comes in handy for mixing the ingredients together
if you're a muggle we're afraid you'll have to do this by hand - soz!
when your mixture has been all mixed up
it's time to splosh it into your container
we grabbed this snazzy mould which we though could be a fun time
emmy (aka zombie cat) had the difficult task of dribbling the mixture in
be careful ems!
nice technique there
we had some left over mixture so decided to do some normal cupcakes too
we then popped them all into the oven and got cracking on the icing
beth (aka normal cat) took the job very seriously
after 15ish mins our spooky cupcakes were ready so we popped them out (literally)
while we waited for them to get all nice and cool
we decided to melt some chocolate for decoration
we did both white and milk choccy - why choose when you can have both
for the normal cupcakes we just slapped on some icing... and then more icing
but our ghoulish goodies got the special treatment
they got to take a warm chocolate bath
then we got pretty wild with the writing icing
beth: they don't look too shabby do they?
em: ooooooooohhhhhh
beth: dare you to try one
em: ...
LOL they actually taste really good though!!!!!
like cupcakes... but not in cups
so hallocakes?
spookycakes?
strawbcakes?
strawbcakes it is! but whatever the name, they're defo treats (not tricks)!
excuse us, we've got some strawbcakes to be eating
