This summer, Selfridges rooftop transformed into a seaside getaway
(see evidence here)
But now that it's getting chillier, windier and rainier
it's time for a change
while we've had to say a sad toodle-pip to vintage salt,
there's a new snuggly restaurant schooching in.
Drum roll please... Selfridges rooftop now has a forest!
(And it's cleverly name forest on the roof)
As you would expect
there's plenty of trees/branches/fairy lights
(it IS a forest after all)
the menu is a downright cosy affair
from mushroom risotto to game meatballs and shepards pie
but more on that later...
cocktail are a MUST
we went for Black Forest and Bubblicious
both totally delish and Autumn appropriate
oh, more branches because - remember - you're in a forest
they leave you with an insanely toasty flannel blanket
for those who want to be completely snuggly while eating and drinking
being the classic ladies that they are
Beth & co were feeling the fish and chips and burger with extra chippies OBVS
we'd recommend both but we've gotta say a chica on another table had the shepards pie
and it did look pretty dreamy, just FYI
let's take a second to talk about the dessert.
there were a few items that caught our attention (chocolate forest anyone?)
but it was the honey cheesecake which stole our hearts
JUST LOOK AT IT!!!
dribbled with honeycomb chunks and meringue mushrooms.
yum yum yum yum yum
if you're feeling extra adventurous
there's also an outside section with two cabins
(blankets TOTALLY required)
once you've finished
the express lift handily drops you back by the perfume/cosmetics hall
and when we say handily,
we mean dangerously.
HELLO charlotte tilbury!
we predict this winter we'll be spending abnormal amounts of time in the forest
(the restaurant, not the place with lots of trees).
